The NEST team encountered a Decepticon and successfully took the con down without any witnesses, the bots and team NEST returned back to base but with a catch. A tiny catch that is. A little child, no further then the age of 3, wondered about in the Autobot base searching, searching for somewhere to sleep and something to eat and drink. Unknowingly, the little child stumbled into the Autobot hanger while the bots slept except for one, Optimus. Optimus watched in amusement as the young sparkling explored their hanger. An ambush. That was all there was to it. The Prime was alone at that time, launching his only sparkling off world to protect her. He was so close to losing her to the Decepticons, at least that was what he thought. He was left heavily damaged, leaking energon, for the other Autobots to find. The priority was not the Prime, but his sparkling. Their objective had been achieved, they did not need to do anything else. Optimus Prime was for their Lord and master to defeat, not them.
