Linnea's life before the Glade was almost worse than the Glade was, but she had one person that helped her cope. Thomas. Her best friend. The boy she was in love with. But one day, in the night, she was taken from him and was sent into the maze. There, she became the first glader.

She wasn't a normal glader though, as more and more boys came up she realized their differences. They were all boys.
But she remembered three things. She remembered never crying once in her life. She remembered her mother. And in dreams, she remembered a boy.
