Opal has always been Opal. You would think she'd make up a new name for the new life she has, but she figures the one given to her by her oblivious parents is perfect for the new career of an exotic dancer. It's not so hard to be a different person - she is good at pretending. Good at doing as she's told, and earning money from it, too. What is hard is forgetting about things. Like the fact that her heart is beating in her chest so erratically it could end her life any second. Or the fact that she's trying to escape from the big bad wolf. Maybe even the feelings she develops for someone, even though she is supposed to be hollow inside and out. Opal doesn't like to forgive, but she does like to forget. Maybe it makes all the bad things disappear. Maybe it makes the world a little bit better. But maybe it will all come crashing down in the end.
