Andy Voitenko notices things that others don't. Nothing paranormal, he just sees the laws of physics in action. He's always been socially awkward. And that makes him a target for a group of scientists who want the smart ones. He never expected wings, never expected scales, and never expected aliens that want to kill him and everyone he knows.
Terry Alfred Lawrence is just a normal navy officer, until he's presented with an offer he can't refuse - a place in a bunker deep underneath the Canadian Shield to survive a coming invasion. He's chosen half because he knows how to lead, and half because he knows how to learn. He never expected dissent, never expected oligarchy, and never expected the difficulties of keeping a human settlement in a hostile environment running.
When their paths cross, and when the alien threat comes for another shot at Earth, they will shape the future in ways nobody could have expected.

MINDSLIP is the catastrophe which hits the Earth at 8.15am GMT next Wednesday morning. It began six hundred and fifty years earlier when Betelgeuse fulfilled its long-held prophecy to turn supernova. The radiation, gamma rays and gravitational waves hit the Earth at the same time as a coronal mass ejection. The combined bombardment causes all creatures on the Earth to swap minds, leaving people in animals, animals in people, men in women and children in adults. The nightmare which follows becomes a social and economic catastrophe. Geoffrey Arnold becomes a key figure in the government catastrophe committee, formed to resolve the myriad issues raised by MINDSLIP. Power generation, the health service, farming, pay, pensions, education, the banking system and asset ownership spiral into chaos. In addition, Geoffrey must save his wife from an imminent premature death brought on by one of the MINDSLIP effects. MINDSLIP is a realistic, frightening and sometimes amusing work of imagination which explores how people and families react to the world being changed beyond recognition. Note: MINDSLIP had been acquired by a publisher who, regrettably, has now folded. Rather than put the original version up on Wattpad, I have decided to give it a considerable edit. I'd love to know what you think. The early chapters might disturb, but hopefully they will also make you think about how you would deal with Geoff, Andrea, Angus, Caroline or Allan's situations. This is book 2 in the No Turning Back trilogy. If you haven't read book 1, read that before reading this. -- Vizor's gone. Everyone spared from his wrath is safe, and finally there's peace. It's been three months since the evil demon's death, and everything's going great. Or so everyone thinks... Dusk is unsure whether his father is gone entirely. He of all people would know his true power. And his suspicions are confirmed when another murder pops up. With a chance to save his possessed friend, Akik finds a way to bring the gang to his home planet - Xero. There, he knew someone that could help. But tensions are high. The Demon-Angel war has still raged on in Akik's absence, and his Xeronian friends are worried. It's been over a year since the return date of Akik's mission, so most everyone believes he's dead. So... what now? ----------- This story contains themes relating to blood/gore, demons, war, trauma, death, and (slight) insanity. If these themes bother you, I suggest you be careful reading this story. There are Blazafor1 ships in this story (though I refer to it as Blakik because.... Well, you get it if you read book 1). Not too crazy in the beginning, and it also has nothing to do with the Mature rating on this story. Though if you are uncomfortable with ships such as this, I once again suggest you be careful reading this story. No one ever said what would happen when dragons and aliens meet. And no one told me that I would be in the middle of it. Tasha was studying hard to get through her last year of university when she was kidnapped. She certainly didn't expect to wake up with four feet and wings. Mad scientists are bad enough, but things get even more complicated when aliens appear and wipe out the human race. Is there a way for her to hide her true identity in this new world while retaining her humanity? --------------------- Sneak Peek: I jumped over the lip of the tray and beat down hard with my wings. I had expected to only slow my fall; I had not expected to end up gaining so much height. I squawked in surprise and spread my wings wide in alarm before gravity regained its hold on me. With several awkward back-winging motions of my wings, I landed lightly on the floor. Well, at least I know my wings work. I glanced at the man in the corner as he was scribbling quick notes. I turned around to regard the tray again. They say practice makes perfect. With another hop and a single wingbeat, I managed to land in the sand tray with fanned wings slowing my momentum. That was much more graceful. But a wing-assisted hop wasn't true flight. And I still wasn't on the windowsill. ---------------------------- Entire semi-polished draft can be read on Wattpad. ✨️✨️COMPLETED AUGUST 29 2024✨️✨️ Desperate people will do desperate things to survive. Wealth, privilege, and power don't always lead to happiness. Money can't buy everything, but freedom has a heavy price tag. Family dynamics can be a royal pain. Love can be a choice. Fang knows trouble. Alien moneylenders, late rent, unpaid debts and generational poverty have all driven her to make a lot of really bad choices - including taking a last-minute job entertaining a wealthy Drass in hopes that she'll make enough cash to escape freezing Anun and start over. Again. Her client is an odd one, but at least he's sweet, gentle and surprisingly cute for a species that looks like a cross between a demon and a dragon, horns and all. After a night of delicious wine, soft kisses and blistering passion Fang drifts off to dreams of warm clothes, regular meals and a place she can call home. Valen has it all: money, power, a name that guarantees him a life of ease and unimaginable luxury - but he leads a lonely, purposeless life in his father's house and his only friends are paid to look after him. So when a human woman appears in his bedroom, nude and claiming to be his birthday present, he can't help but wonder if he's finally gone mad. But she is real, she is lovely, and she is his for the night. For now Valen can forget who he is, and as he falls asleep with her in his arms he dreams of her becoming a more frequent visitor. Dawn reveals a horrifying truth, and two strangers are forced to put their trust in each other amid a web of secrets, lies, politics and familial strife. Putting on their best faces in public Fang and Valen must convince their respective people that they can work together for the greater good, and in private their relationship begins to develop from one of convenience into something far more complicated.
Star trek Echoes of Command by DreadMaximus
16 parts Ongoing Mature
In the unforgiving void of space, every decision carries weight, and every command leaves an echo. For Caden Jarron, a rising officer in Starfleet, war isn't just a clash of ships and phaser fire-it's a game of intellect, culture, and strategy. From the blood-soaked battlefields of the Cardassian Wars to the tense brinkmanship of the Tzenkethi conflict, Caden forges a reputation as a tactical prodigy, a master of war who can outthink any enemy. But as he ascends through the ranks, Caden begins to grapple with a truth few in Starfleet dare to acknowledge: victory comes at a price, and not all sacrifices are made on the battlefield. His growing detachment and cold brilliance win him admirers and enemies alike, and with each conflict, he moves further from the idealistic young cadet he once was. When the Dominion War erupts, threatening to tear the Federation apart, Caden is thrust into the heart of the struggle-commanding fleets, outwitting enemies, and making impossible decisions that could save billions... or doom them. Yet even as he leads Starfleet to triumphs no one thought possible, the echoes of his command reverberate, reshaping not only the course of the war but his very soul. Can Caden maintain his humanity in a world that demands ruthless logic? Or will he become the very thing he swore to protect the Federation from-a calculating force of power, willing to sacrifice anything for victory? Echoes of Command is a gripping tale of leadership, sacrifice, and the dark side of tactical genius, set against the backdrop of some of the Federation's most pivotal conflicts. As Caden Jarron rises, so too do the stakes, and the line between hero and tyrant begins to blur. In war, every command echoes through time-and in space, those echoes can reach farther than anyone dares imagine.

Wings of Fire: SeaWing SuperWeapon

10 parts Ongoing

We all know of the Dragonet prophecy. And we all know of the seawing kingdom and of course, Anemone, the only animus dragon in the Seawing Royal Family and the Seawing's super weapon, but what if that wasn't the case? What if there is another weapon, one that can dominate the skies and the seas, while staying perfectly hidden? Of course, I am talking about the one and only Alicorn super sub. Capable of launching planes and nukes from a rail gun while being able to dive beneath the waves, it is perfect for the job. Enter an average American man by the name of Jenson Peter (P) Brooks, an avid Ace Combat fan who has played the DLC for the Alicorn multiple times. One day, out of nowhere, he gets shot in the middle of a gang war, and he meets the dragon Goddess Draconia, who wants to send him to a place called "Pyhrria." The name rings a bell but he can't quite put a finger on it. Draconia, meanwhile, has found out about Alicorn from Jenson's memories and finds it a fascinating machine, thus deciding that Jenson's body will be that of Alicorn. Surprisingly, Jenson has no objections to this, and his journey in a new world begins when he is sent away to Pyhrria. (Wings of fire belongs to Tui T. Sutherland, Alicorn belongs to Ace Combat)
