But the actions of this Enhanced being as of late have become erratic, extreme.  He no longer provides a sense of security, but instead provokes wariness and fear.  What can be done?  What can the people of this city, normal and Enhanced alike, do against one of the most powerful individuals to have ever lived when he can't be challenged or even reasoned with?

Open Novella Contest 2025! This is my interpretation of prompt 50. A supervillain has a midlife crisis and decides to become a superhero. But redemption might be harder than they imagined. ___________________________________________________________________ Cassius Vale has spent his life in the shadows, a man forged by necessity-no questions asked, no hesitation. A fixer, a ghost, a necessary evil in a city that thrives on corruption and despair. He's become an instrument of violence, a blade wielded by unseen hands, but when a job leaves an innocent girl staring at him with pure terror in her eyes, something deep within him stirs. For the first time, he questions whether he can be anything more than a weapon for hire. Can the blood on his hands ever be washed away, or is he forever stained by the choices he's made? As crime tightens its vice grip on the city and a new wave of chaos surges, Cassius stands at a crossroads: remain the villain in this twisted narrative or fight for something greater than himself. A Guide to Being Super oleh tangles-

Every city has its claim to fame and for the city of Cytropolis it's their superheroes. But unlike the cities of Gotham and Central City, this isn't a good thing. Cytropolis is known far and wide as the city with the clumsiest and least influential superheroes ever. But it never mattered that much since the super villains were just as bad. That is, until recently when the villains decided to smarten up and open a super villain academy to train the newest generation (something that never occurred to the heroes). Luckily for them, Matt Miller has arrived. He may seem like an average, normal (even bordering on boring) seventeen-year-old boy, but when are things ever what they seem? He may be apathetic and bitter but he has super powers and he's kind of, well, powerful. He's the heroes only hope against the newest villain in town, Sinister Shadow, and he has no choice but to lend a hand (but he refuses to wear tights while he does it, he draws the line at tights).
