After losing her brothers in 1864 due to a vampire outrage, as well as losing her father the next evening. For years she lived with the fact that her brothers were the ones that had killed their father. Kaylan Salvatore took life cautiously until her 21st birth year. To move on from the memories that was her tattered life, ended up falling in love with a man. She gave her heart fully, until he showed his true colors. Fed on her, forced her to his bidding and drink his blood, before snapping her neck and leaving her there.
She vowed she would never love again, but it hadn't stuck. She met a man in the 1940's in Atlanta and instantly felt something with him and for a long time felt safe with him. He on the other hand felt the same. For some time the two were inseparable, until they were forced to separate and Kayla found herself meeting Michelle Winchester.
A woman who was a hunter of the supernatural had been since she was very young. Kayla knew nothing of her and it was the same for Michelle, but the two bonded.
