Anna has been abducted and pressed into the service of a psychotic man driven by a vision; recreating Edgar Allan Poe's "Annabel Lee" in the form of an Opera. Set apart by Creighton Greyard's incessant demands of training and schooling in attempts to mold her into his perfected Annabel; she struggles to connect to herself and others. Solace is found in the unlikeliest of places, Lucan Greyard, Creighton's only son. Her carefully crafted illusion of normalcy is shattered by the machinations of Seraph, the jealous chorus girl who believes Anna's place in Lucan's and the troupe's life belongs to her. Anna runs- straight into shadowed memories of past. Recognized by a barely remembered friend, she accepts the offer of home, work, and safety. As time passes, Anna throws herself into discovering pursuits that were never allowed in Creighton's home. She lets herself relax and becomes integrated in the lives of her former friend and her sister. Her hard-worn peace is shattered with the reappearance of Lucan, a precursor to the arrival of Creighton and his troupe. Anna has to merge the two parts of her life back into one without being swallowed by one or the other. All Rights Reserved
