{drarry 8th year fic} Harry Potter is hoping for a quiet year at Hogwarts, a time when he can finally sit back and finish his education in peace. When he discovers that the student body of Beauxbatons will be joining them and he meets their Head Boy, Harry starts to question some things about himself. And then there's the matter of Draco Malfoy. Draco Malfoy is tired. He's tired of the reputation that haunts him, he's tired of his father's disappearance hanging over him dark and heavy, and he's tired of being eaten alive by guilt. He takes matters into his own hands in an effort to improve himself, and when Harry Potter catches his eye in a way Draco never expected, he finds himself with a reason to be better, to do better. Meanwhile, Hogwarts seems to be attacking students, still unstable in the aftermath of the Dark Lord's defeat. Harry and Draco inexplicably find themselves drawn together again and again, old grudges rubbed raw until they're buffed into something hopeful and new.
