Sam is a preppy senior at her highschool, Mill Hill County, in London. None of the teachers call her Sam even after she asks politely. Except one. Her algebra teacher, Mr. Malik, calls her Sam Beyr -no questions or comments needed. He looks familiar to her, though she can't quite put her finger on who he really is. She ends up with a D in algebra after the first quarter. Mr. Malik sets up tutoring with him after school at his apartment.
