Normal is weird in a way, it's normal to sleep in a bed, eat at a table with utensils. Alfie thought his life was normal, he did not know sleeping in a doghouse was bad, how eating out of bowls on the floor was concerning, he wasn't allowed on the furniture after all. Alfie does not understand the normal he now must learn; how rare he is. His family did not realize how easily their child could be snatched away in the daylight, how alluring he was to the ordinary.
