This is my first real story which i have plans to rewrite (overhaul the first chapter and get a consistent writing style.) and finish, so sorry it's left in this state for now. This was also made before splatoon 3 released, so it is not compliant with the new material.
The first two chapters aren't focused on romance, so sorry for that, but at the same time i'm not.
For context this is about a year after octo expansion
This story is about James Edward Park, nicknamed Ulysses. An inkling who sticks to the background, he's not very assertive and is always quiet. He never takes off his mask and isn't keen on doing it, either. After a mysterious 'sponsership', he finds himself caught in the fight for inkopolis, and personal relationships. Will he survive the splatoon, or will he get caught in the jaws of defeat?

Heyo! This is my first Splatoon fanfic here, so I hope it's not too cringy. A bit of swearing (maybe), but overall, pretty friendly (I hope). I'd say 10+ for ages. Out of nowhere, they're both suddenly knocked unconscious and wake up in a dark lab, about to be sanitized. Will they escape? Find out. Inkopolis has just been saved once again by the Squid Beak Splatoon. Agent 3 feels suspicious about the new agent, agent 8, an Octoling. Being on many missions herself, fighting Octolings like him, she can't help but get the feeling that something about him isn't quite right. Agent 8 feels unsure and unwelcomed to the city as he is forced to hide his identity as not all inklings accept Octolings into their home. Not only that, but he also has a problem with getting along with Agent 3! But what happens if a mysterious, unknown threat comes toward the surface, threatening to destroy both Inkling and Octoling kind alike? Can the agents work together to save their race?
