This is a Don't Starve/Together fan-fiction featuring all of the survivors of the Constant! You can easily read this without ever having played the video game, I explain everything in great enough detail.
Disclaimer: Not all the lore is going to be 100% spot-on accurate because as I research I find a lot of contradiction on some lesser known info (like Maxwell's age, and, thus, Willamette's). You can view it as a bit of an alternate reality if that makes you feel better. Please, enjoy.
Another Disclaimer: The is a romance between two characters (I will not spoiler-alert which, even though it's pretty obvious quickly), and there is some details of an intimate nature, but not excessive, so I'd suggest a 14+ on it.

Smaller groups who roam the city seem to hold up against this large group just fine, but rumours and sightings of strange beings roaming the city are echoed and repeated by various people. And it all seems to lead back to an abandoned pizzeria that has been shut down for years. But the two women would soon find themselves confronting one of these things. But it would not be a normal encounter. After all, this individual has had a lust for blood and all he loves to do is hunt and kill. However, it is at this encounter that he seems to find intrigue with one of the women. Mostly for how she handled the encounter like no one else has. And he would soon realize another side of his coin has arrived, and she had no idea. And thus, while women attempt to leave, they find that they have unintentionally become intertwined with something that has now secured their fate to the ruined city.
