Não por acaso, são poucos (e geniais) os verdadeiros mestres desse estilo. Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, H. P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, Ambrose Bierce, Ray Bradbury, Anne Rice e H. G. Wells, entre outros, foram capazes de realmente criar obras que uniam textos instigantes e bem construídos, e que ainda provoca sincero pavor em quem os lê.

E que tal a tarefa de contar uma história que provoque medo usando somente duas frases? Foi esse o desafio proposto por um fórum no site Reddit. Os usuários do site rapidamente começaram a enviar suas pequenas histórias de horror e, não por acaso, o resultado tem circulado intensamente pela internet: a maioria é realmente assustadora.
