It's common knowledge to Inklings and Octolings that Humans are dead and gone. They've searched the deepest parts of the earth, the highest cliffs, and everywhere in between. Well, except the ocean, but the humans aren't hiding there.
After the fall of TarTar, a distress beacon was engaged, sending a signal of unknown purpose. Many saw it, few took heed.
But high beyond the edge of the atmosphere, a lot of people took notice... especially when the sweet stasis of Cyrogenic Preservation was suddenly and abruptly ended.
Now, the humans wander in confusion in their space station, trying to come to terms with Mother Nature and all that she had been doing while they slept... But it is not like humans to sit idly by. They're coming... and they're coming with questions that they expect answers to.

It's been 4 years since Three saw Eight, and she's getting pretty depressed by that. The fact that the team just recovered from the "Fuzzy goo invasion", and being promoted to captain, isn't really helping much with the captain's personal problems. But when Eight seems to go missing, and there are reports of an invasion where she lives, Captain Three starts getting worried. Sequel to "Did you know you're my hero?" Anyone who knew Eight well knew several things by heart: one, she was incredibly timid. Two, she had her memories taken in the metro and was too traumatized by her time there that she hadn't bothered with getting them all back. Three, she had a veritable BOATLOAD of PTSD.
