Ever since his relationship with Junko Enoshima, Nagito Komaeda believed his purpose in life was to be used. Unfortunately because of that, he ends up with a bad reputation at Hope's Peak Academy for being "easy."
Nagito lives a tough life in a rough neighborhood. He does terrible in school and ends up with an alcohol problem that he doesn't want to come to terms with. He doesn't have much hope for himself. That is, until he meets Hajime Hinata. For once, he wants to turn his life around and discover what it's like to love and to be loved.
