Soul Society was ripped apart by the war with the Quincy. The war ends up having a profound effect on the children on both sides. The solution the adults come up with to help ease tensions between the children is to form a Shinigami's Kids Society. 

Disclaimer - I don't own Bleach. This is both my NaNoWriMo project for 2014 as well as part of the Bleach Writing Divercity challenge. It is for l-20, which is to write over 100k for a multichapter or series over one NaNoWriMo and the month before/after. Special dedication for this series also goes to Lucanite who wrote Shinigami Kids Society as she and that work are a major inspirations for this piece. Story diverges from canon plot as of chapter 603.

Finding Friendship has been in the plans for around four years. The story was always planned to be one of the AU routes I would take with Softly Snowing. Back then there were not nearly as many young characters in the series, but now there are more.All Rights Reserved

Note: I've read a lot of stories where an OC is supposed to be Toshiro's childhood friend and it is their job to melt his heart so they can be in a romantic relationship with each other. The problem is that Toshiro was never able to make friends easily and his only relationships prior to becoming a Shinigami were his foster sister Momo, his granny and Kusaka from the academy. If he had just one friend things would be very different, but the writers always forget this fact. I asked myself what solution would I come up with and it was to create an acquaintance who has a crush on Toshiro but was always to shy to approach him. This also said, she's also they kind of girl that is very likely not to have her feelings reciprocated by the boy she likes.

Kurosaki Ichigo is possibly one of the kindest, sweetest kids most would say they had ever met. A tad too lost in his own thoughts (when it's actually him seeing ghosts) and a bit too sensitive (when he's just a child and children have emotions), but otherwise a wonderful child. He is kind, sweet, protective, and oh so stubborn (just like his mother). He's willing to help anyone, spirit and human alike, with anything they need. That is how Masaki and Isshin raise all of their children. To always help when needed. So, it isn't that surprising when one stormy afternoon, 6 year old Ichigo comes home soaking wet, blood falling down his face, with a dragon. An honest to Soul King dragon, because apparently they exist? Instead of the talks and worries of Ichigo's first pet being a dog... or a cat... or maybe even a lizard, he has a dragon. Life now just became a bit of a worse headache... especially when Ichigo suddenly becomes a beacon for dragons. Wing Bind is in for a wonderful headache. -- Or, my (not)crossover between BURN THE WITCH and Bleach (since they're technically both still in the same universe). The reason why? Ichigo + Dragons = Best day of my life. I have a lot of things planned already and I am super, super, super excited because: DRAGONS. I love dragons. Dragons are great and so is Ichigo. SOME INFORMATION: Everything that happens in Bleach takes place in 2018-2020 instead of 2001-2003. Nothing changes (besides use of technology, etc.) and COVID does not exist (unless it brings me wonderful dragon content). Just wanted all the characters to be around at the same time. That's it.
