Izuku Midoriya never actually intended on becoming a vigilante, it just sort of happened. He stayed out late to avoid his mother at night, and got to know pro hero Eraserhead as a result.
He's going to try and become a pro, if not for himself then for the other quirkless kids that need someone to believe in, and that believes in them.
