Coin got what she wanted, Peeta was lifted from the Arena, safe in the arms of the rebels desperately trying to use him for their cause. But Katniss was taken, lowered into the capitol's dungeons, with no idea of the war that has started around her. They both struggle to stop themselves crumbling, having been thrust into something neither of them were prepared for. Completely alone.

The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. Three years after the Third Quarter Quell, the war between the Capitol and the Rebels is still raging.
