A day by day account of my 2014 Nanowrimo journey.
NaNoWriMo for those of you who don't know is a challenge to write 50,000 words in a month. That month is November, and for over ten years writers have been gathering together to attempt this feat.
I first heard of NaNoWriMo in 2013, I managed to complete the challenge that year and the draft I wrote will form part of the second Portal Wars book. More importantly the challenge kickstarted my writing, showing me what was achievable if I applied myself to the challenge.
This year I will be drafting my new book Cleansing River, and hope to share a slightly edited version as I progress through the month. I am aiming to complete the entire story this time round but will be happy with writing 20,000 words if life gets very busy. After all its the taking part that counts not the winning.

Creator: Friend or Foe?
This story began as a NaNoWriMo 2012 work, with no planning, and even less idea of plot. I learned from that experience that I am not a 'pantser' -and spent about 20 painful months trying to turn my stream-of-consciousness 3-stories-in-one into one coherent novel, following the timeline and events in the Book of Genesis. I discovered that that is not a great way to build a plot. I ended after 5 more drafts, at about 60k words. There is another draft on my blog, slightly longer, a bit more experimental. The lost hero returns
Percy Jackson is done! After everything he had done for them. They treated him like trash. Annabeth broke up with him for no reason. The others ignored him. Acted like he didn't even exist. Why would they act like this? With Percy heartbroken and all alone he decides to leave. But Chaos has different plans for him. As commander of the army of Chaos he lives a new and happy life. Far away from those who mistreated and neglected him. What happens when Chaos tells him old and new enemies are rising again and are causing problems. Will Percy fight alongside his old friends or will his grudge and memories stand in the way ? Will Percy be able to save Olympus one last time?
