We follow our main character, Emilie. In southern France, she spends her days working. Her father leaves for Asia on the silk road. She's left dealing with a strange man in which her father arranged a  marriage for her. Emilie goes through hardships and self discovery. Death is all around her as she meets the love of her life and friends of a lifetime. What once was a granted ending in an arranged marriage, ends up being a cottage-core saphic dream.

The only bright spot of Grace's life is meeting with a messenger, a young man who is the first person to see this forgotten king's daughter.
