This is so old dear god please don't read it

Jules is a non binary teen whose parents leave them on a Saturday morning, Leaving a text to tell them where they went when they'll be back and a reminder to feed their dog. Jules is put at ease. But their parents never return home.
Looking for their parents Jules and Riley instead find a new life among a world of dead people walking, Knowing the apocalypse from all those comics they read they hope to find survivors and build a community with their dog, hoping to find their parents on the way, but Jules is young and knows the dangers that reveal themselves in situations like these. Having never seen a dead body before can Jules put their knowledge of the apocalypse to good use?

Heya! It's me Bailey, as you can probably tell this is an apocalyptic alternate universe in which Jules and their dog Riley live(there will also be a few gay ships but those come later). It may seem like just another zombie situation, but stick with me, i have plot twists and drama waiting~
If you are tired of the same old tropes of 'middle aged guy fights zombies, finds a gal and gets her pregnant then goes to fight with the military and says really stupid sentimental and unrealistic things about how thats His child and his wife like he owns them' then this is the book for you! Also I spent time on this so please just consider reading :)
