"Why do you call me Flower, James?" Valerian asked, still fiddling with the petals of a blooming chrysanthemum. 

He climbed down to her side to lay down at the sunny grass below her fingertips, hoping she would see the love in his face when he told her. 

"You were a closed bud when I met you, but then I witnessed you blossom up to me, and I hope you continue to bloom every time I see you." He whispered, lifting his hand to capture the lady's fingers to intertwine with hers.
