"The Last Hope of Khaenri'ah." A voice from the dark shadows of the trees. Deep, unhurried. Kaeya whirled to face the trees.

"How screwed Khaenri'ah must be... to send a person like you as their 'last hope'?" And from the shadows, out stepped a man with golden hair and an eyepatch over his blue eyes, "hello, Kaeya, it's been a long time."

The man smiled, and it was a small, sad smile.
