Soulmate :

/ˈsəʊlmeɪt/
Noun.

A person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner.

Or atleast that is what the dictionary defines it as.

But really. What are soulmates? How did you find them? How do you know they're the one for you?

I'd like to think that we had that decision in the palm of our hands.

Fate however, did NOT agree with me. You see, every person is born tethered to someone else. It's fate's way of making sure that you are never truly alone.

You knew you had met your soulmates when certain faded grey marks or symbols akin to pretty tattoos appeared on you.

You knew for sure it was them when it turned a beautiful solid black on their first kiss.

It was a simple equation. Be in your soulmate's vicinity and you find your soul mark. Kiss your soulmate and it was a symbol forever.

Except for ONE TINY CATCH. You had to meet ALL your soulmates before your soul marks appear on you.

In a world where we knew next to nothing about our soulmate/s this was truly the biggest hurdle that could come our way.

Fate truly was a little bitch.
