Ever since the village of Sundres became his "home," life faired mostly normal for Shej. And why wouldn't it? It was an unbalanced world in favor of the men and their Sources, a world where Taboos...the women born with magic...would be glared upon and outcast. Growing older, marrying a Taboo, and still wanting relief from the sins he carried from his life before Sundres, Shej sets out to find freedom for his soul and safety for both himself and his wife. Just before he gives up hope that a place of freedom could even really exist, he comes face to face with a person of his past and suddenly finds himself greeting trouble around each corner he turns. Will this person help bring peace to his soul by alleviating his sins, or by bringing his death? Can Shej really find freedom? The cursed land. A prison to throw those who people in power want gone - and not coming back through reincarnation. Raviel could not stop his brother from being banished to this realm, but after 10 long years of magical research he finally has the means to go after him and bring him home. If only finding him in the land infested by monsters - and often by men and women not much better - were that easy. --- Winner of Horror category in The Flower's Awards 2018 --- Heavily inspired by Ravenloft books and the themes of Witcher 3 video game, so if you like either, at least give it a try. Feedback, both positive comments and constructive criticism, is very welcome. WARNING: I would not quite classify this as "mature adults only" - personally I read Ravenloft books in middle school -, but it does get pretty creepy at times. If creepy isn't your thing, you might want to wander elsewhere.
