Their stares. Their glares. Their words. They all sink in like oil and spread through me like fire. Why do they hate me? What have I done to them for them to hate me? I've done nothing. They treat me like I'm nothing important. Even my best friend/rival Sasuke Uchiha treats me like I'm trash. I feel unimportant. Who cares about a monster? They've called me a monster for who knows how long. I don't think I'm worthy enough to be in this village anymore. I'll run away.  These were the thoughts of the five year old Naruto Uzamaki.

"Hey, Naruto?" "What, babe?" I asked softly, tilting my head up to gaze into the onyx eyes of my lover. "Promise me that you'll never leave me. Swear to me, Naruto Uzumaki, that you'll always be by my side, through every little thing. Assure me that I'll never have to know another day without you." I frown slightly, my usual casual smirk still intact but a bit distorted by the furrowing of my brows. I stare down at Sasuke, confused by his out-of-the-blue demand and the worried look clouding his normally cool obsidian eyes. He inhales deeply and continues. "Even if it's a lie, I'll believe it, just tell me that you'll never let me go." I feel tears well up in my dull cerulean eyes and bite my lip to keep them from spilling onto my cheeks. All I can do is nod and stutter, "O-Of course, I-" His lips crash into mine, and suddenly hot, wet tears are rolling down both of our faces. I smile into the kiss, and the shared fear of losing each other slowly dissipates, replaced by raw passion. A few minutes pass, and Sasuke breaks off the kiss, though reluctantly. I sniff and wipe my eyes. "I love you so much," I whisper, reaching up to tuck a strand of raven hair behind his ear. He beams at me, his charcoal eyes glistening in the sheer moonlight. "I love you too." ----------------------- Disclaimer; I don't own Naruto, obviously. Hard Yaoi, be-(lieve it!)ware. Many triggers. Sad, sort of twisted ending. Don't like, don't read. Lemons. Again, don't like, don't read. Also, just so you know; the book sucks at first, because I was a lil' noob when I started out writing it, but please keep reading, as I can promise you it gets much better. Seeing as I owed him my life, I agreed. My new purpose in life was to protect Naruto Uzumaki from every bad the world had to offer. Even though it was physically impossible. It's almost been a year since the Fourth Great Ninja War ended and things are pretty boring in Konoha. Naruto rarely sees his friends anymore, with Sakura training to become a better medical-nin all the time and Sasuke being confined to his own apartment under constant watch. When interdimensional activity is discovered far, far south, in the middle of the ocean, Kakashi unites the Konoha 11 + Sasuke and sends them off on an adventure to check it out. Having the group back together again is totally weird, but much more exciting than anything else going on. The group travels the seas in search of a new potential villain, while also dealing with the repercussions of the past war. Things have changed since they were young, and moving on from them is the bravest thing they can do. Also- Naruto has a major epiphany about someone.
