Keystone jacks are female connectors used in data communication, typically for LAN wiring. It almost looks like the standard wall jack (RJ-11) that connects telephone sets, dial-up, fax machines to conventional telephone lines.

The jack is set up in a patch panel or wall plate. There is a matching male connector which is a keystone plug, which is attached to the end of a cable or cord.
