Recedem, a small village in Holmentis, was one of the most beautiful villages in the country. Its people were always happy and cheery, and enjoyed every day of the year. 

However, this changed when Demons attacked. These creatures had the power to control your mind and take over your body. They used this control to make you do horrible things, like killing the one you love most. 

But lucky for some people not everyone could be controlled. Some people had a strong mind, they we're able to resist a Demon's influence.

George had resisted a Demon, which made him a Fortis.
Dream's mind hadn't resisted one, which made him an Inferior

Both Dream and George had left the attack behind them, trying not to think about it. But their pasts are catching up to them, and not in the way you would expect.

George suffers from epilepsy which causes him to be bullied for that at school. After being humiliated in front of the whole school for being gay, the popular boy named Clay decides to stand up for him. Clay, suffering from diabetes with abusive and not supportive parents, does everything to help George get rid of the bullies while struggling a lot himself. The two start getting closer and closer until Clay starts realising he's more similar to George than he expected to be, wanting to be closer to him every day. Clay has autism and finds comfort in simple things, the illuminated a fireplace on a winter's night, fish swimming and stuffed animals. However, this was all soon to change after a tragic accident. Clay finds himself alone, seeing his happiness slip away from one simple mistake. George doesn't have an easy home life, after noticing signs of possibly a muscle disease, his only wish is to get help for it, however his parents deny every word that is brought up about it. Yet, it gets worse by the day as George quickly looses any hope left. When Clay is left traumatised by his past, he thinks nothing will bring back the same happiness he once felt, but when George moves into the farm he often visits, that same joy that was extinguished with the fire, sparks again... so, have you ever wondered what may have happened if george never did what he did at dream and fundy's wedding? this fanfic is an idea of what may have happened. [ this fanfiction includes a plot twist that you will find out pretty early in the story ! ] ------------------------- "isn't it beautiful?" sapnap asks. "yeah. very." we stand there and stare for a bit. and then i ask a question. probably uncalled for. Clay is traumatised by his past and becomes cold and emotionless, hurting himself to feel something while his life is filled with emptiness. His parents are hopeless and don't know how to help him anymore while he games all day and skips school. George struggles with an eating disorder and seeks help on the wrong sites, meeting a coach who is "eighteen" years old. George trusts him and ends up sending him pictures of himself without anything on, not realising the terrible effects of this. His escape is to game as well, meeting an emotionless person who appears to have a soft spot for him. Will they be able to help each other?
