Young Korekiyo was kidnapped at a young age because of his magical hair. He was kept away in a tower by the woman who posed as his "sister" who would always warn him of how horrid humanity was. But even from his tower he could always see lanterns every year on his birthday.



When the young thief, Gonta Gokuhara, stumbles into the tower, he makes a deal with Korekiyo that he will bring him to see the lanterns in return of the crown he had stolen.
