Amelie was invisible to everyone, and she had always been told that. Amelie's mother was disappointed with how much she shut herself in and why she always became silent around people. Amelie always felt best alone, and did not long for friendships.
Leo was very different. He was outgoing and was always the life and sound of school. Everyone knew Leo - or everyone knew him with the tousled brown hair and the hazel eyes. He talked to everyone, and charmed all the girls in town. Everyone enjoyed being in his company, but no one had ever been to his home. He had thousands of excuses at that point, but no one questioned it.

They have been going to the same little school in Rosetown for several years, but have not noticed each other - or yes, Amelie has of course seen Leo. How could one avoid it? But Leo has not seen Amelie, which also makes good sense. They encounter each other, and are both so different but they also hide such similar secrets.
