Luna is an 18 year old girl with a almost poor family. She has black hair and her skin is almost lighter than sand. She doesn't have enough money to go to collage and she has no friends. Her mother died the day before her 10th birthday and Luna's life has never been the same. She had no job and she barely gets any money from her father. One day she takes a walk far from her house at midnight and she finds a big redwood. Out of no where she finds a boy named Jack who tells her the tree was special with more powers than ever and only appears at midnight and someone was killing it. The tree is the center of the world and it makes life possible. After the tree is completely gone, life will die all over the world slowly but deadly. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. When Luna turns 16 she is to cross to this world to not return until she decides to have kids of her own.
