After Luca's father makes some horrible investments the Balsa family is left in ruin and is on the brink of being kicked out of the aristocracy. Luca's mother dies soon thereafter and Luca is left to become the sole breadwinner of his family. With nothing but his brilliance to keep the family afloat, he is forced into selling his prized inventions for a quick buck. Things couldn't get worse, right?
Well, now he's spent the last two years in jail after being framed for a crime he never committed.
Having been fed up with this miserable life, he recruits the help of his best friend, Tracy Reznik, and they hatch a foolproof plan: to marry Luca off to a filthy rich noble!
But things don't go according to plan when the inventor finds himself becoming the beau of the ball; it doesn't help that the Crown Prince seems to be fascinated by this mysterious newcomer as well...
