Why A Dragon Mate?

Humans are no longer a threat to our existence as we have made peace, but not before they destroyed 60% of the supernatural societies many species have already gone extinct and there are many humans who still don't trust us, but there's still hope....
We no longer need to hide and have built many cities for our own people. Humans are welcomed to stay but it never lasts long.
They out number us in terms of population on the earth. As our numbers are dwindling despite our longevity.
Sadly there aren't many children being born naturally. We have made some progress over the years, but with progress there is downfall.
At the end of it all everyones goal is to not just survive, but live and maybe if they're lucky they can live happily, in safety forever,... even if it is behind walls.
