Your, uh, soul mate, as you all call it nowadays—” that earned a chuckle from us. “—will be revealed to you. However, the Magician does nothing to help you find him or her. You would have to do that yourself. You see, your soul mate may be in a different state, or a different country, or even in a different continent. It is up to you to find them. So it is my job to prepare you for that.”
"Sir, how many people survive this journey?"
That was when his expression became cold.
"Mr. Marker, you have no idea how many people at this school I've had to bury."
