Winter Mardins was born like everyone else, the only difference being her bright white hair and sky like eyes. People would think it weird if she wasn't as beautiful as she was.

Her entire life was built on lies to protect her from the people who want to kill her. But it was also to protect her from herself.

Her parents hid the biggest secret from her. Winter was the last, known at least, Shadow Teller. It's what people called the few blessed with the powers of the Gods above.

The lies end up sending her straight forward into a kick and scratch way to survive. If she didn't learn to protect herself and control her powers, she was either going to die or send the entire word into destruction.

But thankfully, Winter has the luck of finding an injured man on the road that's willing to help her. With a 'small' cost, of course.

Though the events in this short story take place before Book 1 in the series, I recommend reading it AFTER you finish "Siena." I think it will be more satisfying that way, because then you'll understand the little Book 1 references I've planted here and there. Finally, the format of the title and cover for this story is different from the rest of the series. That's because I consider this to be bonus material rather than a continuation of the series. It's only 12 chapters long. I may change the cover at some point, but in the meantime, this is what I have. :)
