"I have scars too, remember?" Draco said after a moment. He tugged off his shirt, making Lorelei blush, but he showed her all of the long white scars on his arms, back, and torso. She gently touched one of them, making Draco breathe deeper, but her heart slowed and shoulders uncoiled to see them.
With shaky hands and averted eyes, Lorelei carefully pulled back the hem of her dress until it rested just above her knees. She didn't look at his face, not wanting to see his reaction.
She flinched just slightly when Draco's cold finger trailed over one of her scars, just as she had done to his a moment before. "They're beautiful, princess. A sign of your strength and resilience."
