So in her effort to avoid Alby and her runner job she seeked refuge within Newts care... Only to fall for him more... But that was it... Falling for him was enough to blind her of fear, she needed to save him. Her world was taken over by her determination to save Newt and her friends, she pushed herself to be a runner. Thomas doesn't know how to tell everyone and he doesn't want the runners to know. Especially Minho who might kick him off being a runner. Thomas learned to read lips and help hide the fact that he can't hear a thing but everyone is onto him.
