In the world of Isotopia their moon only shines once a month for one hour. Those born on this day at that hour and survive are known as Sunflowers. It seems that only girls are able to survive the light of the sun and only a select few girls actually do survive. The Sunflowers are a sacred group, the people of Isotopia believe them to work with the Sun God.
