**Book 1 in "The Middle" Trilogy** Maya Bishop's worst fear came true. Her wife left her because of how broken she is. She doesn't want to give up on their love story yet, and she will get better for Carina. Dr. Carina DeLuca hates that her wife couldn't get help when she begged her to. It had to take her leaving for Maya to go see a therapist. Is it too late to forgive and trust again? This is an alternate storyline after the events of Station 19's 6x09 and how they could find their way back to each other. Can they set their differences aside and find a way to meet each other in the middle? This story takes place immediately after the Season 3 finale. I'm a Surrera fan, so they'll be finding their way back to each other with a little help from the Station 19 crew and a few Grey's favorites. Fire Captain Maya Bishop got ready for her shift at Station 19 and went to work just like every other shift she had done. However, during a call with her long-term girlfriend Dr Carina Deluca she heard what sounded like crying coming from outside the station. Upon further investigation, she discovered the noise was coming from a child. She took the child into her office and quickly formed a bond with them That's when Maya realised, this child was to be the next adventure in her life... Inspired by lovatic_f story "Maya's Next Step" (when coming up with the name for my story I didn't realise how similar they were until after I posted it) With that, I am in no way going to copy or steal their ideas. I was just very inspired by what they wrote.

This story is about two firefighters falling in love at first sight. They became friends and started hanging out until something happened to the other. Will this situation destroy their friendship or will it turn out for the better and they'll become more than best friends?

'Station 19' has ended its run on ABC. The first 3 books of this series were released as a sort of tie-in to the storylines we were watching every week. But now, now my Marina fan fic is able to expand and truly become my vision. I'm going to pull many things from the show, but explore how I see Maya & Carina and the gang in my mind and in my heart.
