This is a 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' alternate universe (AU) where Abraham Portman was declared missing, and presumed dead, a year before sixteen-year old Jacob Portman and his family finally decide to clean out the old man's house. Will one particular object in Abraham's pile of belongings prove itself to be a trail of breadcrumbs in the forest? Will it lead Jacob to his grandfather's old friends, if they're still, by any chance, alive? Will the metaphorical trail of breadcrumbs... lead Jacob to his long-lost grandfather?

*I don't own any of the characters or settings in this book, unless I say otherwise. They all belong to Ransom Riggs.*
