pine (noun): an evergreen coniferous tree with clusters of long needle-shaped leaves
pine (verb): miss or long for
Do you ever feel like the forests of your consciousness are forests of pine trees? Because I do. Why a forest of pine, you wonder? Maybe it's because the noun "pine" reminds me of the verb "pine" and how I often miss or yearn for something more just beyond my reach. Or maybe it's because I sometimes get hurt by the jagged pines of my own thoughts.
I now invite you to wander with me into my misty forests of consciousness, pine, and poetry. Let's play a game of hide and seek in the woods. Get lost with me. Find me. And find yourself.

A poem from this collection:
Pine
I breathe you in -
A familiar mix of cinnamon, musk,
And pine.
Every time I now think of you,
I remember you as pine.
Evergreen,
With needles so delicate
But so sharp.
I once held onto you so tight,
That the needles piercing through my skin
Left us adorned in crimson.
I must have spent far too long in your exotic forests.
For I now realise
That I too carry the sickly-sweet scent of pine.
But there was a difference.
While you smelt like the noun,
I smelt like the verb.
