This story, is about a girl, a nerd more like it. Her name, well real name, no one really knows, no one cares either so it's not that important to her. Everyone calls her Em, for Mystery Girl. Everyone says that because Mystery starts with M and they needed something to call her.
Anyways, her life, isn't that perfect so to speak. With only her father, being who-knows-where every night, and bullies at school, teasing her about the loss of her mother, it is very hard to hold on. Plus on top of all of that, another fellow nerd and her get paired up for an assignment and he comes in and stomps on her life and makes her have.. feelings? She hates it. Absolutely dreads it. She wants nothing to do with it.
Soon she will find out that some of her curious actions aren't the best idea, she gets in a load of trouble. Everyone is telling her that she can't face it alone, but she thinks otherwise. What will Em do once she realizes she can't do it alone? Will others have given up on her already?

An Unexpected Moment
... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. *(COMPLETED) "The worst thing about being lied to is knowing you weren't worth the truth." He bit his lip. "I wanted to te-" His eyes began to water and as a single tear fell he looked at me and said "but what if you've been lying for so long you don't know how to tell the truth?"
