What would you do if, by pure coincidence, or perhaps spiritual alignment, you one day decide to take a solo-weekend trip, wanting to taste the freedom of youth one last time before entering college, unbeknownst of what was to meet you amidst the neverending lands of the vast world, when you encounter him: Cowmaeda. My name is Kokichi. Kokichi Ouma. Student from the Mizanaki High School. I'm 16 but I'm by far the shortest boy in my class. And the weakest too. I guess that explains why I'm always their favorite victim... Kaito Momota and Gonta Gokuhara... I hate them. Every day, they ask me to bring them money. Every day, they ask for even more. Every day, they destroy my bag and hurt me if I dare not have what they asked. They've been racketeering me for so much time I don't even have any of my pocket money left to give them. I have to steal from my parents and to lie to them in order to get what they want and not to get any more bruises than I already have. At home, it's hard to hide my bruises and my injuries, especially to my mom. But I somehow manage with my purple locks. As for healing my injuries, I know how to deal with it. I may have become as good in this than Mikan Tsumiki, the Ultimate Nurse. Then I rewrite my homeworks if they have been destroyed once again by Momota. ... I wish I had a guardian angel... Someone who would protect me from Momota... who would protect me behind the scenes... When I said that prayer out loud, I had no idea... that someone heard me. And that that someone would make my wish come true the worst way possible... Changing my life into a living hell... A nightmare even worse... At that moment, I asked for a guardian angel... Shuichi -when he is a kid- lives with his parents and his uncle in Japan before they had to move to America, where he left his only childhood friend, Kokichi. Years had passed, and ever since he had moved overseas, Kokichi had made some new friends: Maki and Himiko. Their first high school year only started for them, but the murderous group that was once in America named 'The Despairs' had travelled to Japan, and was followed them was none other than the young detectives Shuichi with his non-biological sibling Tsumugi. They both enrolled in the same high school as Kokichi and his friends and things happened. Now how will this go as Shuichi and Kokichi solve things out while Shuichi's on the road to getting the Despairs to justice?
