In the fall of 2010, sixteen teenagers suddenly vanished without a  trace from a small suburban town in the Midwest. Each one was sixteen years old. There were no witnesses, no ransom notes, no clues whatsoever as to what happened to them. The community was devastated and the police were baffled until they all suddenly reappeared, sixteen weeks later with extraordinary new powers and no memory of where they had been or what was coming next.

In this particular store, they each find a beautiful necklace that they think represents their personality. But what they don't know is that they actually just picked up an incredible, hard responsibility to handle. There are five different elements, death, fire, water, air, and life. Who will be there to help them on their journey? Or will they just have to tackle this on their own? Will they be able to rise to the responsibility? Or will they just crash and burn?

Someone is doing something secretively down there and are going to great efforts to make sure no one finds out what it is. But Josh and Katie don't give up, and soon find themselves in a very dangerous situation. Science Fiction/Mystery Note: I wrote this story when I was in high school. My target audience was 10 to 20 yrs, but I hope readers of any age will enjoy. It has been through two major edits since I wrote it to bring it up to a (hopefully) high standard. No one leaves the home unless it's essential, and most of the world prefers it that way. Until one girl spends her days perched on her window seat, looking down at the world below and dreaming of a different life. Her eyes are always drawn to the dark, ominous drains in the street, the ones that often blink open to swallow and person whole. One day, that person is her little brother, snatched right in front of her from their arms of their father and gone forever. When a person is snatched, they never return, and life goes on without them. But she can't accept that. Breaking all the rules, all the things she's ever known, she braves the world outside her little townhouse and goes on a mission into the darkness to find her brother. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains. To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!

Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. I am working on rewriting this story and when I do there will be the trigger warnings in the correct places.) (small teaser.) No one sees me. I am a ghost. I brush against the wooden fence. No one will believe it was me who disappeared into a fence and appeared on the other side of school. I stare at my brother. He made eye contact with me, confirming my suspicions. We both saw it. Whoever that was is like us. "Did you just see that?" I ask "You're that person my brother and I saw," He says. Oh no... Why then? "Wait! You're-" Completed just editing. (Don't be too harsh please)
