An odd pair were the Nazyalensky twins. One with blue eyes and one with brown. One storm and the other water. One witty and harsh, and the other sarcastic and loving. 

But both equally as terrifying.

Everyone knew that Zoya was a great, if not the greatest squaller, but (Y/n) was different. As a normal tidemaker should, she controls water, but not like others. Where they need the source, her water appears out of air moisture, plants, even humans. Being able to take control of someone's body was definitely not a normal thing for Tidemakers, some people often mistook her as a Heartrender, but that was one of many things that set her above the Tidemakers and even Heartrenders.

Behind him, a monster ten feet tall, made of shadow, forms in a menacing stance, ready to carry out his silent orders. I thought I had seen the last of his nichevo'ya a long time ago when we were on opposing sides of the war. I shake my head. "No. No, what are you doing? Wait!" I send the Cut barrelling at the monster. It dissociates into nothing only for another one to take its place. Again, I send the Cut through the abomination, but it was only a diversion. Another one forms behind me, capturing my arms to prevent me from summoning. It holds me above the ground. I kick and scream, but it covers my mouth with its long, slender arm, the other holding me securely to its chest. My breath is labored as I use all of my strength to fight it. It is futile. The Darkling approaches me, stroking his fingers across my cheek as a way to comfort me. It is hard, however, to comfort someone if you are the cause of the distress. "I will do anything in my power to protect you, my Dear Alina. Anything."

A/N: It started as a Darkling x OC book. But I couldn't justify that for the second season. So, for the second season, it has become a Nikolai x OC book. (I blame Ben Barnes even though I had read the books and knew what was coming, it still started with the Darkling, but then Nikolai swaggered onto the screen, and it just had to change!) Season 1: The Darkling was quite happy to keep to himself, locking everybody out. But that was hard when a chatty hyper healer was determined to get his attention without even realising it. The one problem is that having the Darkling's attention brought a lot of unwanted attention in and of itself. Leigh just wanted to befriend everybody (well, not everybody; she would love to be more than friends with a particular shadow summoner.) Season 2: Horrified by what the Darkling has done, Leigh does the only thing she can: run. Taking all that she knows with her, Leigh makes it to the other side. Determined to bring the Darkling down and make him pay for his crimes

This fic will deal with heavy topics: war, violence, loss, grief, death, and manipulation will all be explored. There are mentions of SA and explicit dub-con scenes. The relationship between Alina and Aleksander is very much toxic throughout the story and it will for the most part remain toxic. Moreover, nothing in the story is meant to be taken at face value, rather, themes and actions were left morally grey, so to be explored and dissected by the reader. If these are themes that will trigger you or make you uncomfortable PLEASE do not engage. A darklina story~How would the story end if the battle at the climax of Seige & Storm between Alina and the Darkling happened at a different place and time-After the Darkling became the reigning king. What would have happened if the Sun Summoner surrendered? Alina Starkov struggles with her feelings towards Aleksander and protecting her country. She is forced into decisions that she did not want to make while at the Grand Palace. The Sun Summoner loses even more control over her life after her marriage to the Darkling. She must gain back control and find a way to save Aleksander's humanity; the lives of innumerous innocent people depend on it. This story is based on the Shadow and Bone trilogy combined with the Netflix show.
