Relationship Status - It's complicated

Tired of pacing in the room in the heavy bridal attire, she sat down at the end of the large bed at the center of the room. Suddenly she was reminded of the first night of her first wedding. Manish's cousin sisters had made her sit in the new bride style on the bed with her lehenga surrounding her in a neat circle. She had kept her gaze lowered and waited for him to arrive and sweep her off her feet. Nothing of that sort had happened though. Manish had never come in the room that night. She had changed after waiting for 2 hours and then drifted off to sleep in the arm chair in Manish's room.

There was a thin layer of tears in her eyes today as she sat nervously at the edge of the bed and silently wished nothing of the previous episode repeated tonight. As though her silent prayers were heard, there was a knock on the door. She stood up immediately.
