    Every year, the seniors of Lincoln High School participate in The Baby Project for the infamous Life Studies class. And for Nigerian, straight-A track star, Abidemi 'Demi' Diana Coker, this year should be no different. Except it is. At the end of her junior year, a dare to kiss one of her female best friends had her questioning her sexuality, all while nursing a heart-wrenching crush on her other long-time male best friend, Rio de Santos. All of that done wearing Air Force Ones and a hoodie.
    
    Moving from France to forget the traumatic events of his past, Alexandre Gabriel Laurent is insistent on moving on, focusing on sneakers, coding and football.  When he is dared to hack into the Life Studies teacher's computer and change his partner to Demi, life as he knows it seems to unravel. Everything he thought he would never get to feel, he does, for a girl who wears a different pair of sneakers every day, runs track and is in the shadow of her younger sister.
