Luly Carter is trying to hold herself together while building a life she can be proud of. She runs Aura Beauty Bar. She is raising a toddler who depends on her. She has a best friend who refuses to let her fall apart. She is still grieving, still learning, still trying to breathe even when the hurt does not always leave. She is not perfect. She is simply surviving. And that counts. Then August King steps back into her life. August King has everything people chase. Power. Money. Control. But the only thing he ever really wanted was the quiet girl he noticed years ago. The girl who never tried to impress anyone. The girl whose kindness felt natural, not loud. Now he is raising his adopted sister Rosella and carrying responsibilities no one really sees. He meets Luly again, and the feeling never really went away. It only grew quieter. Their worlds begin to gently overlap. Coffee at Aura. Short conversations. Soft glances that say more than words. Nothing rushed. Nothing forced. Just healing. Just choosing. Just learning how to love carefully, without losing themselves. This is not a story about someone saving someone else. It is about staying. It is about trying again. It is about believing that even with grief, there can still be small, beautiful moments. The heart of this book follows Luly and August. But other voices speak too. Rosella. Sydney. Others whose lives touch theirs. Each of them holds their own story, and one day, each one will have their own book. Because life does not always give us many splendid days. But sometimes, the few we do get are enough.

𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨: 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘴, 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯! Tragedy can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere, and the saddest part about that truth is that tragedy is unavoidable. No one can prevent a natural disaster from happening. No one can prevent death from knocking on their doorstep - if it's an accident, or a sickness - it cannot be prevented, and it cannot be avoided. You never know on which day tragedy will come knocking on your front door. You never know who it would strike next - if it would be you, or someone else, or someone who is very close to you. The thing is, with tragedy, it doesn't ask questions before it strikes. It just does. River and Sophia were two people who experienced the same tragedy: loss, but their stories were very different from each other, but they shared the same pain of losing someone they loved, someone who was close to them. And now, suffering the aftermath of their tragedies - living with the guilt, the regret, and the grief of losing someone that was close to them, they have to try to overcome everything, before their tragedy ruins their lives forever. But will it bring them together or would it just be another terrible tragedy? [ word count 130K - 145K ] [ comments does contain spoilers ]
