When Night Falls

Cora lives in Gedrall, the shining center of industry whose streets are overcrowded and buildings are covered in grime. She lives and works in a particularly unsavory part of the city, where the people are as dangerous to themselves as they are to each other. She feels trapped, but in her life, there is a single ray of sun. Cora's best friend, Benji, is an endlessly optimistic inventor who spends his days pushing a peddler's cart and nights dreaming up ways to get them out of the awful city. A bright future is on the horizon, but the closer they get to it, the more the city tries to stamp out their hope. Together, the two friends learn the hard way what happens when even the brightest lights are snuffed out.
