There is something strange about the ancient little town of sloan, but Amber Keep doesn't realise, until she is literally tackled by it, in the form of a knife wielding cloaked figure, only to be rescued by a handsome red headed man with a sword, who introduces himself simply as "Fox".
As if Ballet class, difficult home life and petty drama wasn't enough for a 17 year old to handle, now Amber has to deal with a dark force threatening to swallow her and her entire town, learn to fight and navigate a world that seems strange and new, despite having always somehow been there... lurking on the cusp between one reality and the next, in the stone creek weald.
